Mission
The Mission of the California Afterschool Network is to influence policy and coordinate local and statewide efforts that support out of school time opportunities for children and youth.
Vision
The Vision of the California Afterschool Network is that all young people are positively engaged in and supported by their communities during out of school time to promote their physical, social, emotional and educational well-being.
The Network:
- Provides leadership and links to state policy makers to support high-quality programs;
- Offers a collective voice to support policies, research, public awareness campaigns and innovative strategies;
- Builds networking partnerships to support opportunities for mutual learning
- So that California’s after-school programs can keep children safe, inspire learning, and help working families
Benefits of Participation
- Representation of a collective voice for influencing policy by coordinating local and statewide efforts that support after-school opportunities for young people.
- Join our listserv to receive free current accurate information and resources in after-school research, policy and practice
- Join Network Committees related to after-school policy, quality, research, and middle & high school youth programs to participate with statewide leaders in the after-school field
- Participation is voluntary and based upon participant interests
