The California AfterSchool Network, in partnership with the CA Dept. of Education’s Expanded Learning Division, excitedly offered the 2024 Spring Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Academy! 

The virtual four-day academy was designed to support CA educators with the Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELO-P). We are hoping participants were able to connect, learn, strengthen, and hear promising practices from our District, School, and Community Partner practitioners. Each day, we focused on one specific hot topic of ELO-P, based on the overall needs of the field.

Spring 2024 ELO-P Academy Details & Resources

Day 1: Wed., 4/3

Topic: ELO-P Nuts & Bolts, Volume III

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - Registration for this workshop has closed. 

Description: This workshop will build on the 2023 Fall ELO-P Academy session, covering Expanded Learning & ELO-P basics, including the latest updates/FAQs.

Day 2: Thurs., 4/4

Topic: Running A Single-Comprehensive Expanded Learning Program

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - Registration for this workshop has closed. 

Description: Join us and hear promising practices in how programs can use different funding streams to run a single-comprehensive EXL Program to support children, youth, and families. We will focus on how this works programmatically and administratively.

Topic: Understanding ELO-P Reporting & Compliance Monitoring

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - Registration for this workshop has closed. 

Description: This workshop will focus on reporting and compliance monitoring for ELO Programs. Additionally, it will include information, resources, and sharing of promising practices to support Expanded Learning Programs with Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) and Audits.

Description: Join us as we focus on School & District and Community Partnerships to support high-quality ELO Programs. We will hear from leaders around the state on how they are partnering, who they are partnering with, and the positive impact on supporting children, youth, and families in their communities.
