Desert Recreation District is looking for a Paraeducator – Recreation Leader and a Children’s Recreation Leader! 

Paraeducator – Recreation Leader

Under the direction of the Senior Recreation Leader, this position provides instruction and tutorial assistance to individuals of groups of 20-100 students in a classroom or an instructional resource setting; prepare instructional materials and perform limited clerical duties related to the instructional program. Must be professionally prepared as a leader of school age children. Responsible for the general management of a group of children from kindergarten to fifth grade. Must be a sensitive and mature individual able to relate well to both children and adults and provide leadership and stability for program continuity.

Children’s Recreation Leader

Under the direction of the Senior Recreation Leader, this position reports to the Community Services Coordinator and provides assistance in conducting children’s recreational program activities. Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities at District program sites. Provides age appropriate life enriching experiences in a safe environment. Being organized, proactive and multitasked is a must. Each interaction with customers must be handled in a way that positively spreads the District’s reputation. Working safely by using good judgment and following all District and Cal-OSHA regulations is required.
