The Head Start Programs and Early Head Start Programs provide a variety of child development and positive learning services including school readiness, health and nutrition resources, and family well-being support. Although over a million children are served each year, California has yet to provide adequate funding to support the capacity of these programs.  

Currently, Early Head Start is limited to serving only 7% of the eligible children and families statewide. To ensure California’s most-at-risk children receive enough support, let us urge our lawmakers to provide $20 million for funding the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Take action today by contacting your legislature.
