June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month!
On June 28, 1970, on the one year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the first Pride marches were held in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Thousands of LGBT+ people gathered to commemorate Stonewall and demonstrate for equal rights. The federal government first recognized June as Pride month in 1999.
This month, we recognize the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance, and we reaffirm our commitment to standing in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and colleagues. Happy Pride!
