AB 1312 (Smyth) would expand the public recreation program exemption from child care licensing
AB 1312 (Smyth) would expand the public recreation program exemption from child care licensing. Currently public recreation programs are exempt from licensing provided they operate 12 weeks or less over a one-year period and less than 16 (or 12 for some programs) hours per week. The bill would authorize exempt programs to operate 14 weeks or less over a one-year period and less than 20 hours per week. It is scheduled to be heard in the Assembly Human Services Committee on April 26, 2011. For more information, including the text of the bill, committee analyses, and voting history, click here.
