Defining Equity Work Group Call for Applicants: Applications Available Now
A Message from the CDE
Building upon the work of the Grants Administration and
Policy Strategic Implementation Team of the California
Expanded Learning Strategic Planning Process and
their vision to develop and implement a collaborative
process for review and gather feedback on state (ASES) and
federal (21st CCLC) equitable funding distribution
processes, the Defining Equity Work Group will focus
on defining equity in grant eligibility and award
distribution for state ASES and federal 21st CCLC programs. The
group’s work will build on current and pending legislation.
The Defining Equity Work Group will be led by Susie Morikawa,
Education Programs Consultant with the After School Division, and
Allyson Harris, Program Director with Shasta County Office of
Education.
Work Group Composition: Approximately 10 members of the
field from diverse geographic areas and different positions
within the after school community as well as approximately 4
After School Division staff. It is essential that work
group members be committed to these collaborative efforts.
Work Group Commitment/Requirements:
The team will alternate meeting via in-person and teleconferences
during 2014-1015.
The time commitment will be a maximum of 10 hours per month
including time performing individual planning and
preparation work may be required.
The commitment is for one year, although work may be completed
before that time.
Travel costs are not covered.
First Meeting:
The first meeting of the work group will take place in
Sacramento, California from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm in late
September/early October. Exact date and location will be
determined at a later time.
If interested in participating as a member of the work group you
must be available to attend the first meeting and must cover your
own travel expenses.
