Intent to Award for the 21st Century Community Learning Center Funding Results

The Expanded Learning Division is pleased to announce the posting of the Intent to Award for the 21st Century Community Learning Center Funding Results.

All awards are made contingent upon the availability of federal funds. Funds have been ranked and awarded first by geographic designation, then by priority points and Free and Reduced-Price Meal (FRPM) percentage rate. The funding cut-off for each geographic designation is listed below:

21st Century Community Learning Centers

North-urban:         Priority 5 with an FRPM Percentage of 68.67

North-rural:           Priority 5 with an FRPM Percentage of 62.44

Central-urban:       Priority 4 with an FRPM Percentage of 77.60

Central-rural:        Priority 4 with an FRPM Percentage of 96.92

South-urban:         Priority 4 with an FRPM Percentage of 94.33

South-rural:          Priority 3 with an FRPM Percentage of 64.84

Appeals

Applicants who wish to appeal the grant award decision must mail a letter of appeal to the California Department of Education (CDE) within 10 calendar days of the date of this Intent to Award email notification.

Appeals are limited to the grounds that the CDE’s action(s) violates a state or federal statute or regulation. The CDE must receive the Letter of Appeal within 10 calendar days of the email notification of the Intent to Award announcement posted on the CDE web page. Postmarks will be honored. Emailed letters of appeal will not be accepted.

The letter of appeal must have an original Authorized Signature of the applicant or signature of the applicant Designee stated in the application.

The letter of appeal shall include the following:

  1. A clear, concise statement of the action being appealed;
  2. The legal authority (statute and/or regulation) relied upon for the appeal position;
  3. The specific evidence being submitted to support the appeal; and
  4. The specific remedy sought.

Please note: The Intent to Award list may change after the grant award appeal period is complete. The final awards will be posted on the CDE website when all data is verified, and appeals are decided.
