Hosted by the California AfterSchool Network in partnership with the CA Dept. of Education’s Expanded Learning Division and the System of Support for Expanded Learning (SSEL). This multi-day virtual convening of workshops is designed to support our District, School, and Community Partner practitioners with the design and continued implementation of the CA Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. Participants can connect, learn, strengthen, and hear promising practices from our ELO-P community. Each day, we will focus on one specific hot topic of ELO-P based on the overall needs of the field. Each workshop will be offered daily via Zoom from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PST and includes a presentation on the topic with opportunities to engage with participants.

September 11, 2024: From Policy to Practice: Supporting Quality in Expanded Learning Programs
This workshop will promote quality and compliance. It will include a brief review of ELO-P Nuts & Bolts, compliance resources, policy updates, and highlighting promising practices from the field.

September 12, 2024: Inclusive Expanded Learning Environments
This workshop will focus on fostering inclusion and belonging in Expanded Learning programs. Participants will deepen their understanding of inclusive practices, explore practical strategies, and gain access to high-quality resources.

September 17, 2024: Leveraging Multiple Funding Streams to Build Quality Expanded Learning Programs
This workshop will focus on integrating Expanded Learning with other ecosystem elements to create a comprehensive program. Participants will hear from leaders who have successfully braided diverse funding sources from various regions across California.

September 18, 2024: Supporting Our Youngest Learners with Quality Expanded Learning Programs
This workshop will explore how quality Expanded Learning programs can support our youngest learners, including TK and Kindergarten students. Participants will gain access to valuable resources, strategies, and tools to enhance their programs.
