We are excited to announce a few important updates for the 2023 Site Coordinator Symposium!
The Site Coordinator Symposium is
an annual convening designed to support CA Site
Coordinators and Expanded Learning (EXL) / Out of School
Time (OST) educators and partners with a unique opportunity
to learn from their peers, colleagues, and other experts in the
field. This event is presented by the California Site
Coordinator Network and supported by
the California AfterSchool
Network, California Department of Education
Expanded Learning Division, and the System
of Support for Expanded Learning.
2023 Symposium Updates
1. The 2023 Symposium will provide hybrid opportunities, both in-person and virtually.
- Virtual Symposium: Wednesday, February 15, 2023
- In-Person Symposium: Friday, February 17 - Saturday, February 18, 2023

still alive and infecting our communities. To help
mitigate the spread of COVID and promote Health & Wellness,
we are sharing a mini-newsletter with recent information and
resources from a variety of CA departments and agencies.

Parents are focused on gathering all of the essentials their kids will need for the first time at school or entering a new grade, teachers are busy preparing their classrooms for in-person instruction, and kids are excited to see their friends again! For all, it’s an important time to rejoin the activities that enrich their lives.

The California AfterSchool Network’s mission is to provide the resources and support needed by the OST field and its partners across sectors to build high quality OST programs that improve the lives of California’s most vulnerable children, youth, families, and communities. CAN is “of the field and for the field,” is a catalyst of quality, a vehicle for advocacy, and a conduit for communications.

This month the Million Girls Moonshot and all of its parters commemorate that “giant leap for mankind” as it remains one of humanity’s greatest achievements. We look to the future, to the next generation of engineers and scientists. What will be their “giant leap”? And most importantly, how do we support young people on their journey in STEM?
